Keep in mind you are not going to lift your front wheel off the ground at 80 mph like you could do on a Ninja or other crotch rocket. It's a CRUISER, and a THUMPER at that!

How far is Portland to Denver? The farthest I've done in a day is about 300-325 miles, I'd estimate that 400 wouldn't be a problem. For a long trip, I'd shoot for 350 a day, for however long it takes (then again, I'm not a very experienced interstate rider). If you plan on doing frequent long trips, I'd look for something heavy and with more top end.
But for an all around scoot, I don't think you can beat the Savage.
